The Rheingau

Cosmopolitan
yet idyllic

Living in Berlin. While feeling at home in your own little world. In Friedenau, this is possible.

Welcome to
the Notting Hill
of Berlin

Gardens, neighbourhood and artists' quarter

Friedenau combines historical flair with a high quality of life. Narrow, tree-lined streets, lush front gardens and beautiful old buildings make up the charm of this neighbourhood. Founded 150 years ago as a villa suburb for the educated middle classes, Friedenau has always attracted artists – the district is associated with the names of Günter Grass, Uwe Johnson, Marlene Dietrich, the Comedian Harmonists and many others.

The people who live here also feel closely connected to Friedenau. A good neighbourhood ennobles this neighbourhood – just like the nice cafés and restaurants where people celebrate pleasure, or the diverse leisure and cultural addresses. Everything here is a little smaller and cosier, greener and friendlier than elsewhere in Berlin.

Meet & greet with a good drop of wine: the popular wine festival at Rüdesheimer Platz takes place from May to September.
